It is heartening to see that the B.S.F. Senior Secondary School has made a remarkable progress during the last four decades. Today it occupies a place of eminence in the list of schools of repute in Shillong. I am quite satisfied to see the way the school has progressed in the last few years, with a humble beginning in the year 1967 as a primary school to meet the educational requirement of children of B.S.F. personals posted in the North Eastern Border. Today it has gloomed into a Higher Secondary School with Arts, Commerce and Science streams.

It is a moment of pride for all of us to see the tree flourishing, the sapling of which was planted years back by Shri K. F. Rustam Ji the founding father of B.S.F. and the first Director General of this gallant force. The dedicated team work of the teachers of the school has produced excellent result in the field of academics and co-curricular activities.

Imparting education is for us, lighting other’s candles at out lamps, without depriving ourselves any flame. Indeed, as teachers, it is our duty to keep the torch of knowledge burning by trying to awaken the mind and sprit of ourselves as well as of the taught. Here at B. S. F. Senior Secondary School we endeavour to inculcate such values in our children that would help them to grow and develop a virtue that makes each student an ideal citizen of our nation.

I wish it grows further more towards excellence and spread the lights of fraternity, equality and amenity through the golden rays of education.
